25th! Annual

Sunday, May 15, 2022
10:30 AM thru 1:30 PM
Hose and
Hound Pub

Yes!! Our club has held this worthwhile volunteer event every year, non-stop, since 1997! That's a lot of dedication and enthusiasm to keep our city clean. When it comes to volunteering, we Calgary Parrot Heads rock!!

New zone this year: Elbow River Pathway, on the east and south ends of Stampede Grounds.

Please sign up for volunteering beforehand if you're interested: Email Mark Piché:

On Sunday, May 15, 2022, volunteers will meet at the Hose and Hound Pub (1030 9 Ave SE in Inglewood) in the parking lot at 10:30 AM .  After a safety orientation, we'll proceed to our assigned section of the Elbow River.

Then we'll gather again at the Hose and Hound at around 12:30 PM for a post-cleanup lunch and drinks. The pub has cheeseburger specials on Sunday and it's all-day happy hour for drinks! Those who can't participate in the clean-up itself can still join us at this post-cleanup gathering.

Volunteers can view this Pathway & River Cleanup Volunteer Guide online. (This link will be removed after the event.)

Volunteers: Remember to dress/pack appropriately:

  • Long pants (for if we need to go thru the bushes)
  • Sturdy shoes or boots. i.e. No flip-flops.
  • Work gloves
  • Smartphone, if you have one
  • Calgary Parrot Head T-Shirt, if you have one. e.g. It'll be great if most of us have the same white T-Shirt for our 25th year.
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Mask: for indoors at Hose and Hound; now optional but use your best judgement.
  • Suggested (but not mandatory) extra items: Bottled water, bug spray, sunscreen and hat.

If interested or have questions, please contact Mark Piché:

A Time for Renewal

Hello Calgary Parrot Heads: Please renew your membership, if not done so already.  Although 2021 was a “freebie” year, due to the pandemic wreaking havoc on our ability to gather, 2022 already appears to be a promising year, with vaccinations giving us the ability to do conga-lines again!

Keep up your membership and you’ll be eligible for member-only events, plus discounts for more “open’ events.  Membership is only $15 – very inexpensive as clubs go nowadays!

Please fill out this form, and send a scanned copy (or “E-signed” copy if you know how) to .   Snail-mail and cheques are still okay too; the mailing address is on the form.

Not a member yet but would like to join?   We welcome you with open wings!!  Please use the same form with same instructions.

PS: If you’ve already renewed or joined as a new member, but aren’t receiving our Emails, please let us know via .
