pH Unbalanced Band Gig Night! Also: Happy Hour Swigs Bar and Grill
Ho, Ho, Ho and a bottle of Rhum and all that one would expect with staying on Christmas Island while spending Christmas in the Caribbean..(a hint of a few songs that the pH Unbalanced Band will be playing). So put the flip flops on, wear your most colourful tropical wear and come on out and have some Christmas cheer with your fellow Parrot Heads.

We're also really pleased to announce that Brian Neale (www.northernharbour.com) and DJ Rocky will be our live entertainment that night. Brian & Rocky are making the trip from Toronto to play our event. We are very fortunate that they enjoy entertaining the Calgary Parrot Head Club. Calgary Annual Yup... time to "Get-Down-n-Dirty". The River Cleanup is a GO this Sunday. Huzzah!! Plan on 2-3 hours of picking litter, and then back at the Hose-and-Hound for lunch-n-libations. Anyone interested in a FREE pancake breakfast? It's at the Max Bell Centre (prior to the cleanup) at 8:30 a.m. This River Cleanup event goes rain or shine. This is a wilderness area, but equipped with a water pump, outhouses, and free firewood. The road is paved up to Waiporous village, then gravel (but still trailer-friendly) for the latter half of Highway 40 towards the campground. So some on out, and you too can join the Too-Much-Phun club!

Volunteering at the Fellow Parrot Head Volunteers are needed to serve lunch at the Calgary Drop In Centre. (Note: This is tentatively planned as we need at least 20 people). Friday July 24 thru Sunday July 26, 2009: Camping Trip! North Ghost River Wilderness Campground We like it so much, we're heading there again... July 24, 25, and 26 in the North Ghost Provincial Recreation Area -- see the map below. Flip-flops and T-shirts are the dress code. Cheeseburgers on the barbee. Lawn chairs in the river, and bocci-ball in the woods. This is a wilderness area, but equipped with a water pump, outhouses, and free firewood. The road is paved up to Waiporous village, then gravel (but still trailer-friendly) for the latter half of Highway 40 towards the campground. Last year we gathered around the campfire and listened to JB on Sirius Radio, thanks to Gord and Cindy. Hopefully we'll be dancing under the stars one more time. So some on out, and you too can join the Too-Much-Phun club!

There are about 80 special needs kids together with God- knows-how-many siblings. A terrific cause! Friars Pub has once again hired the pH Unbalanced Band, so we will have some live music once again. Stan Rogers Tribute / Fundraiser Monday, November 10, 2008 9th Annual Stan Rogers Tribute: A fundraiser for the YWCA Sherriff King Home. Event takes place at Hose-and-Hound Pub (Inglewood: 1030 9 Ave S.E.). Doors open at 7:30 PM, Music at 8:00 PM.
Update (April 25, 2008): If you show your membership card at the Margaritavilles in Key West, New Orleans & Vegas, as a Club member you receive a 10% discount. (Vida mentions these 3 as they are the ones that have been mentioned on the message board.) This probably applies in the Caribbean locations as well. We are sure that if you were to whip out your membership card at other locations the 10% will apply. This is only for merchandise in the store, not food or drink. If anyone is traveling in the next little while where there are Margaritavilles – and you are granted the 10% discount (or not) please let Vida know. This apparently is “not in stone” – but people have been granted the 10% discount. For anyone who has been to a Margaritaville location – you know how easy it is to blow $200 bucks on merchandise (well, that’s $20 in your pocket.) Jimmy Buffett Night! The Calgary Yacht Club for Jimmy Buffet Night. Hot food, Hot music and GOOOOOOOD Margaritas. City of Calgary Annual River Clean-Up Sunday, May 6, 2007 Gather at the Hose-And-Hound Pub in Inglewood in the parking lot at 9:30 AM. Bring your coffee; Baileys will be supplied. Please bring work gloves if you can. This year we will be wearing parrot attire (leis, grass skirts, etc.), but no flip-flops. Plus, pants (as opposed to shorts) are recommended to avoid being scratched by bushes. We will clean the river banks and reconvene at the Hose-and-Hound for lunch and beverages. Sat. March 3, 2007:
